Our new target date for KingFisher (new name!) is August 2010, it's a ton of work, but it's worth every hour we spend on this.

Chef Peter McCarthy, owner of Pier 5736, selects only the best of the catch of the day from Chicago's finest seafood purveyors. Buying in smaller quantities and having daily deliveries ensures that each cut is the best it can be. Whether you are looking for your seasonal favorites like Lake Perch, Trout or freshly caught Smelt or have a taste for a beautifully prepared Salmon, Stripped Bass or Tilapia, or want to satisfy a real hunger with a hearty Halibut, Shark or Marlin steak, Chef McCarthy has something good cooking.

Chef McCarthy believes you shouldn't have to battle the hassle, expense and formality of the downtown seafood restaurants just to get fresh, well prepared seafood. Set in a casual, intimate dining room with vintage posters from Chicago's Gold Star Sardine Bar, our staff of professionals provides a relaxed, inviting, family friendly atmosphere, where there is something for everyone, including kid friendly dinners and a full service bar.

Pier 5736 was ranked one of the top 50 restaurants in the city of Chicago by the Chicago Reader March 14, 2007. Pier 5736 received this honor in March 2006 as well, ranked with the likes of Tru, Charlie Trotters, The Ritz Carleton, Le Francais and The North Pond Cafe. Pier 5736 is the ONLY restaurant on the Northwest side of Chicago to be ranked in the top 50 for TWO CONSECUTIVE YEARS!
